Orders & Delivery

We are a Canadian shop and all our prices are set in Canadian dollars. Our shop converts these prices to your local currency (which you can select at the very bottom left of your screen) at the day's exchange rate. As exchange rates fluctuate, so do our prices in foreign currencies.

We do our best to ship orders within 2-3 business days. Shipping times to USA & Canada are 2-7 business days, with priority options also available.

Please note that delivery times may be prolonged due to COVID-19, as postal services have been under great strain with immense volumes and stringent safety protocols.

We ship via Canada Post from Montreal, QC Canada. Shipping rates vary based on destination and delivery option you select. We have a shipping calculator in the shopping cart and all available shipping options will be displayed at checkout.

We offer a flat $15 CAD rate ($22 CAD for parcels 1kg+) as a more affordable option for customers living in remote locations.

Yes, we ship worldwide from Montreal, Canada. You can use the shipping calculator in the shopping cart to estimate shipping costs.

Tracking is available for all Canadian customers and US/International customers can opt for a shipping method with tracking. You’ll receive a tracking number via email when your order has fulfilled/shipped - if you haven't received it, please check your spam folder, and allow 24 hours for it to begin tracking.

You can also log in to your T&M account, go to the My Orders page, click on your order and click the Track button to access your tracking link.

If you don’t have a T&M account, sign up with the e-mail address you used to make your purchase and you will see your order in your account.

Please note that Small Packet US Air and Flat Shipping options don't come with tracking, so the tracking link in your confirmation e-mail won't work.

As we are a Canadian company, we are required to collect tax on all items sold through our store as per applicable tax laws in Canada. How much you pay depends on where in Canada you live:

- 5% (GST) in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon

- 13% (HST) in Ontario

- 15% (HST) in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island

No tax is collected from US/International customers.

Unfortunately, some countries hold packages, delay shipment, and can sometimes charge import duties on shipments (and often quite randomly!)

Thread and Maple is not responsible for import duties, customs fees or any additional costs that may arise in delivery. We are legally obligated to note the exact retail value of goods sold on all packages. Packages from us may be subject to import duties if you reside outside of Canada, according to your country’s import policies. These policies vary widely from country to country. If you're unsure, please contact your local customs office for any specific information on import policies, fees and duties.

We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, as well as PayPal and Shop Pay.

Apple Pay

You can also pay using Apple Pay, which works if you’re using an Apple device. You can make contactless, secure purchases with credit cards you save in your Apple Wallet. 

Google Pay

Google Pay is very similar to Apple Pay and you can use it on any device via your Google account. It’s a virtual wallet where you can securely store your credit cards and pay instantly without having to fill out any forms. Simply select Google Pay on checkout and follow the steps.

Shop Pay helps you check out faster securely. Thread & Maple runs on Shopify, which is a Canadian e-commerce platform trusted by 500,000+ online stores worldwide. Shop Pay is Shopify's instant payment solution. It automatically fills in your saved payment and shipping information when you enter your email address at checkout.

Your mobile phone number is used for SMS verification of your account.

When you check out, select Save my information for a faster checkout. Enter the required information. When you complete the order, you will see a notification on the order status page that confirms that your information is saved to your Shop Pay account.

Yes! You can select local pickup on the checkout page and e-mail us to arrange a day/time to pick up your order. Our office is located at 460 Victoria Ave, Suite A in St-Lambert QC.

If you selected 'Small Packet Air' or 'Flat Rate' shipping options, they don't offer tracking. Canada Post sends their internal order number that is populated into the tracking link, but it doesn't actually contain tracking information. Rest assured that your order is on its way and typically arrives within 12 business days for US/Canadian customers shipping with those options.

Account & Website

To redeem your discount code, add all items to cart and click Checkout.

On the checkout page, you will see a link to Add a discount code or a gift card in the Order Summary section.

Type in the code and click Apply. If your order is eligible for the discount, you will see it applied automatically. If you see an error, please make sure that you’ve met any minimum purchase requirements and added the correct items to your cart. We specify any requirements in the e-mail/text message/Instagram post where you received your code.

If you’re having trouble, send us a message by clicking the messenger icon at the bottom right of your screen. Please be sure to provide the discount code and order details so we can assist you.

No, signing up for a T&M membership account is entirely up to you and you can checkout without an account anytime. Having a T&M account speeds up your checkout next time and has membership perks like exclusive offers, the ability to save/share wishlists and access and track your orders.

Bundles are hand-picked sets of products that work perfectly together. Because some of our products are custom-made for a specific purpose, we’ve created bundles to make it easier to shop for craft tool organizing solutions and gifts. For example, while our Notions Clutch can hold a wide variety of knitting/crochet tools, the notions in the Notions Clutch + Tools bundle are guaranteed to fit perfectly in every compartment.

Scroll through the bundle products and select size/colour options where available, then click Save Options. You can see an updated list of what’s included in each bundle by clicking the + icon, which will note the preferences you selected.

If you’d like to purchase some but not all items in a bundle, go to the individual bundle page under the Bundles menu and click Choose Options. There, you can see all the bundle details, any available bundle discounts and select/deselect items in the bundle.

When you purchase items in a bundle, they will arrive packaged together vs individually. For example, if you purchase the Notions Clutch + Tools bundle, your notions will come inside the notions clutch and only the stitch markers will come in their individual cotton pouch. If you were to purchase the items separately, they will come packaged in their own cotton draw-string pouches. We aim to reduce our footprint and packaging materials this way.

You can join our mailing list by scrolling to the bottom of the page and filling in the mini form. If you’ve already subscribed and wish to unsubscribe, you can log in, click on your account in the top right corner, and go to Edit Profile. Uncheck the Newsletter Subscribe checkbox to unsubscribe. Alternatively, you can always click on unsubscribe at the bottom of any of our e-mails.

Please note that you will continue to receive account/order e-mails with pertinent information about your account or order status.

If your order is a gift, you can add a note on the cart page in the Special Instructions section. Your recipient will get a ‘Just for You’ T&M card along with the gift items.

For $6 CAD, you can opt to beautifully gift wrap some or all of the items in your order by selecting the gift wrap option on the cart page. You can also add a personalized message which we will write for your recipient either on the ‘Just for You’ card or eco greeting card if you purchased one in the order.

Simply enter your recipient’s shipping address at checkout to have the items delivered directly to them. Please note that we can’t ship items in the same order to multiple addresses, so please create another order if you’re buying for yourself and someone else.

We don’t ship printed receipts with our packages, so your recipient won’t see product prices when they receive the items.

Returns & Exchanges

At Thread & Maple, we are committed to ensuring the best possible experience for our customers. If you're not satisfied with your order, we will gladly accept returns or exchanges within 45 days of your order date.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging. Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products, such as special orders or personalized items. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on final sale items or gift cards.

We photograph our tools and yarn in natural light to portray them as accurately as we can. Please note that some computer monitors display colours differently. Also, as our yarn is hand-dyed, each batch is unique, so some variations can be expected. If you're not happy with your yarn order, we will accept returns or exchanges, as long as the skeins are in their original form.

Simply e-mail us at support@threadandmaple.com and include your name, order number and the items you'd like to exchange/return. You can find your order number in your order confirmation e-mail or on the orders page of your T&M account - either log in or create an account with the email address you used to place your purchase. We’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Please note that you are responsible for return shipping costs.

Pre-Orders

Some of our products are handmade in small batches, therefore we don’t always have them in stock. When an item is on pre-order, it means that the next batch hasn’t yet completed production, so it will take longer for us to ship it to you. When you purchase a pre-order item, you reserve it in the next batch and guarantee that you will receive it. If you wait until the item becomes available, you may miss out and have to wait until the next batch is ready.

You can see the date that the item will be shipped on the pre-order item product page as well as below the product name in your shopping cart. That is the latest date that the item will ship, we will notify you if it becomes available sooner.

If you log in to your T&M account (or create an account with the same e-mail address used to make the purchase) and navigate to your Orders page, you will see the status of each item in the order. Once the status is showing Fulfilled, it means the item has shipped. You will also receive e-mail notification to your account e-mail address.

You will pay for all the items when you place the order and we will ship all the items together on the pre-order ship date or once it becomes available. If you’d prefer not to wait, please place separate orders for regular and pre-order items.

If you’ve already placed a combined order and would like to request that your items ship sooner, please e-mail us at support@threadandmaple.com and we will send you a separate invoice for the pre-order item shipping costs.

Since pre-order products are handmade in small batches, this means that we’ve sold out all the items in the upcoming batch. Once we have secured the next batch shipping date, we will open the item for pre-order again. Subscribe to our mailing list to be notified of product releases.
